MODIFIERS FOR METALS and ALLOYS

Modification method involving nanodispersed ceramic powders was developed for steel and alloys. The essence of the method is the introduction of ultradispersed powder (UFP) subjected to mechanical treatment, in the amount of 0.1-0.05 %, at the stage of metal pouring.

The additives get distributed uniformly over the metal volume and allow an increase in metal strength by 15-35 %, an increase in plasticity and corrosion stability by a factor of 2-2.5. The technology may be applied to modify all brands of cast iron, many steel grades, nonferrous metals. The high efficiency of the technology is due to savings of expensive doping additives.


Industrial tests at different plants in Russia have been carried out.
