MECHANOCHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY FOR OBTAINING ECOLOGICALLY SAFE SUBSTITUTES OF FORAGE ANTIBIOTICS

Mechanochemical technology has been developed for obtaining ecologically safe mannanoligosaccharide preparations that are substitutes of synthetic forage antibiotics. Selectively blocking the surface of bacteria, ecologically safe mannanoligosaccharides prevent them from attaching to the intestinal walls of animals and thus prevent the development of disease.

The method of obtaining the preparation includes operations: the yeast biomass is mixed with the enzymatic complex, the mixture is subjected to mechanical activation, the resulting intermediate product is pressed in tablets and heated at the temperature of enzyme action.

Schematic diagram of the mechanochemical technology:

The development has been patented in RF

The technology is implemented with the original activator mills specially constructed at the ISSCM SB RAS for processing the plant raw material.

The preparation can be used for prophylactics of the infections of digestive tract in animal husbandry and in poultry farming
Innovation of the technology is the use of mechanochemical reactions in the solid phase to obtain biologically available mannanoligosaccharides from the yeast biomass instead of the processes of biochemical isolation.

Advantages of the technology:
  • Simplicity (small number of operations) of the technology and low expenses for its realization allow one to use the wastes of yeast production, the raw material which is unprofitable for processing using classical biotechnological methods.
  • The technology is ecologically safe. Waste water and solid waste products are not formed in this technology.
  • The technology can be implemented at small-scale enterprises.
